“Determination Overcomes Obstacles: A Story of Success Against All Odds”

Hi readers!

You must have heard the famous proverb Where there is a will, there is a way,” which means that if someone is fiercely determined and deeply motivated to achieve a goal, they will find a way to overcome obstacles and make it happen. That’s what Pakistan did under the leadership of her current trio (CDF, PM, and FM), proving the truth of this famous saying.

The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person’s determination.” — Tommy Lasorda, a Baseball Hall of Fame figure associated with the Los Angeles Dodgers”.

Only few quotes can explain the situation more clearly than this one, considering what Pakistan’s trio, President Donald J. Trump, the Iranian people, and the wider world have faced during the last 100 days.

Congratulations Pakistan

Throughout this period, the trio remained awake day and night to extinguish the flames of war. Pakistan mediated this Memorandum of Understanding (commonly referred to in documents as the Islamabad MoU) after more than 100 days of conflict under extremely difficult circumstances. There were many moments when it seemed that the negotiations would come to a halt, especially after the first round of meetings between the US and Iranian delegations, when the US delegation suddenly left the talks and Pakistan to return to the United States. Speculation spread around the world that once derailed, the talks might never return to track. Yet it was Pakistan’s CDF who kept the deliberations alive by sacrificing days and nights, setting aside the challenges within his own country, to bring an active conflict, hostility, and intense dispute to a peaceful end. Had he not pursued this vision, the dream of peace might never have seen the light of day. In my view., he deserves the highest recognition for this effort.

The entire process was conducted without glamour or publicity and was kept completely out of public view. Not even a word of the negotiations was leaked to the media, despite the large number of international electronic, print, and digital journalists present in Pakistan, some of whom were reportedly encouraged to remain by the American President himself. This was an example of how delicate peace processes can be when created and used to deal with conflicts that many considered impracticable and unbelievable.

Pakistan used a “never-give-up” approach that was neither linear nor straightforward. In my view, this persistence enabled Pakistan to accomplish the improbable task of acting as an intermediary between the US and Iran: two long-standing adversaries, and to help facilitate an agreement aimed at ending more than three months of war that killed thousands of people, mostly in Iran and Lebanon, while also disrupting global energy markets.

Now that the MoU has reportedly been signed digitally early this morning, the world can hope for the following:

• Immediate termination of military operations across all fronts, including Lebanon.

• Reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for normal transit operations, accompanied by the lifting of the US naval blockade on Iranian ports.

• Withdrawal of US forces deployed in the immediate vicinity of Iran.

• Release of Iran’s frozen assets, valued at US$24 billion.

• A 60-day period of post-MoU negotiations to pursue a final and permanent settlement of Iran’s nuclear programme and uranium enrichment issue.

• A formal conclusion to the war that, began on 28th,  February 2026.

• An end to decades-old restrictions on trade with Iran.

• The beginning of a wider process of regional normalization, which the I believes, Iran will pursue with great care and determination.

US President Donald Trump reportedly confirmed the deal shortly afterwards, writing, “The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete,” on his Truth Social platform. In my view, he also deserves congratulations for his role in managing the global energy crisis and for helping keep the issue from escalating further during the war period. He continued to draw public attention to the matter through his Truth Social platform, which is often referenced on social media in humorous memes and jokes. Despite that, the American President worked relentlessly and succeeded against all odds.

People in some parts of the world may be feeling euphoria and validation, as defying expectations can trigger a powerful sense of triumph, confidence, and vindication. In other parts of the world, however, disbelief may still prevail, because reaching the finish line often brings with it the question: “Has this really happened?”

Yes, dear readers, many people still struggle to believe that this breakthrough has happened. Some are still expecting that spoiler(s) may prevent the MoU from reaching the final signing ceremony on 19 June 2026.

But “No matter how much an adversary wishes ill, only what is destined by God happens.”

وہی ہوتا ہے جو منظورخدا ہوتا ہے

See you again. Take care. Goodbye.
