We all know what silence is? it is the absence of sound, the withholding of speech, or the deliberate choice to remain quiet. It can also mean a failure or refusal to write, call, or reply.
Silence is often described as the language of God and the heart hence, in prayer, it is better to have a heart without words than words without a heart. Charles de Gaulle however, once said:
“Silence is the ultimate weapon of power”
While a legendary Chinese philosopher Laozi says,
“Those who know do not speak; those who speak do not know”
China has proved Charles de Gaulle’s saying right. She worked in silence, without optics and sloganeer and without letting the world know every detail of the progress, prosperity, and power (PPP) she was building, until she emerged as one of the world’s major powers. We, on the other hand, have too often proved Laozi right by relying on optics, rhetoric, and sloganeering (ORS).
Here, PPP refers to progress, prosperity, and power, while ORS refers to optics, rhetoric, and sloganeering.
Dear readers, we live in a noisy world. Distracting sounds create uneasiness, and even pleasant sounds can pull us away from the personal growth and well-being that become possible when we become quiet and turn inward.
If you pay attention to Charles de Gaul, it depicts the example of China and if you pay attention to Laozi, it truly depicts the example of the self-proclaimed leaders of Pakistan.
Now look at China. Her strategic and governance foundations include the following principles:
State-guided markets: China combines centralized national planning with market-oriented enterprise. This means focusing on customers, monitoring competitors, and coordinating across functions to satisfy consumer needs instead of merely pushing existing products. By contrast, we keep producing and exporting yarn while consumer demand has shifted toward finished goods, including ready-to-use clothing for both local and international markets.
Long-Term Vision: Measuring policy success and societal evolution across decades and centuries rather than short cycles.
Contrary to this, we make short term or abrupt policies (in fact we don’t believe in making policies because we believe working on day-to-day affairs which change every morning: classical example is current routine of fixing petroleum prices.
Pragmatic Experimentation: Testing reforms locally in pilot zones before scaling successful policies nationwide. In Pakistan however, we are short of electricity (consumers pay heavy bills and face the menace of load shedding because whatever electricity we are producing is for the elites who consume it round the year and never pay bills. We have been unable to replace our decades old distribution system, unable to caught electricity thieves, and unable to channelize the electricity produced by IPPs. Most of the owners of these IPPs are government functionary and political elite who are being paid very heavily without producing a single unit of electricity. We have been bestowed upon with plenty of such shine, but we have not been able to use it fully even in one big or small city. We have never been able to enforce opening markets at 8AM and closing on 8PM so that we can use free sunlight instead of expensive electricity. It is largely because we don’t like sleep disruption of the market players and unlike China don’t have
Cultural and Philosophical Roots with Confucian harmony which value collective responsibility, social stability and structured coordination over individual disruption.
People-Centred Governance: that visualize people prosperity as a strength of the nation.
Upholding the ancient principle that a nation’s strength starts with making its people prosperous.
While China believes in
The Spirit of Struggle, cultivating national resilience, grit, and an unyielding commitment to overcoming historical hardships. Pakistan on the other hand believe in official begging initiatives and free lungers.

He should have done it by himself because he was the one who made this loud claim just for ORS instead of China’s silence. No one had ever heard slogans from China for her PPP which is now speaking very loudly.

As top leader of China, President Xi Jinping has shaped national progress by centralizing political power, driving an anti-corruption campaign, and prioritizing technological self-reliance (the three policies that made China: what the China is today). I am a great admirer of President Xi and wish if we could have one like him in Pakistan.
We have trust in our CDF and wish if he could have tackled the corruption in China’s way. He should focus on public centric policies and not on the interests of the elite and politician corrupt to the core who believe in ORS which should be ban immediately. The Minister who made falls claim while unable to show progress should be sent home and punished even if democracy must be thrown away. We don’t believe in “Democracy is best revenge” we believe in

President Xi believes in economic restructuring, military modernization, and expanding geopolitical influence through Belt and Road like initiatives. Our CDF too, strongly believe in economic re-structuring and expending geopolitical influence (current example is the world-famous Islamabad MoU). However, his leadership will remain in shadow until he tackles corruption in the way China did if we believe our friendship with China as sweeter than honey, deeper than ocean and higher than Himalia: a world-famous slogan that has now become a laughingstock due to ORS. Use the power of silence to prove the strength of our friendship.
