The article says, “while everyone knows about Israel’s Iron Dome and her military competence, little did we know about her secret weapon the “Cyber Dome.”
Iron Dome is an Israeli mobile all-weather air defense system developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries
In 1955, Israel’s founding father (David Ben-Gurion) envisioned a destiny unfolding before him (which means a vision that will help Israel to be developed and spread clearly in the people in order to help her to expand through understanding her view of the world). He (Gurion) anticipated what would happen to them during their life and in the future, especially when it is considered to be controlled by someone or something else.
This vision was translated at the expanse of the Negev Desert.
(The Negev desert goes back to the events of Abraham’s life during the time when Israel was moving place to place without any purpose. The desert which is mentioned several times in the Bible is located in the southern region of Israel near the metropolis of Tel Aviv and is a part of the the deserts in Egypt, Morocco and Jordan).
Ben Gurion at that time perhaps didn’t envisaged that his foresight would be later translated into 1,800-acre cyber security complex in Beer Sheva: the capital of Negev and Israel’s cybersecurity hub. Please see the picture below

Upon visiting the Negev desert, one can only see Camels and cattle roaming in the scarce vegetation. But now men behind computer monitors are replacing all along with the men in the furrows of the Deseret because Israel is fully dependent on Cyber be it defense or attack. She has pooled her best brains to design a “Cyber Dome” on the lines similar to the country’s famous Iron Dome
Cyber Dome is a big data: artificial intelligence and a combination of futuristic digital technology constituted and ensembled by various groups in the Deseret.
Contrary to the Iron Dome, Cyber Dome will fight virtual wars, but the composition of their soldiers is not different. These are men and women drawn from the defense intelligence unit 8200; J6, Cyber defense directorate within Israel Defense forces (IDF), Cyber units of the spy agency Mossad, domestic intelligence agency Shin Bet; and the Ministry of Defense. While the orchestra (combined efforts of various departments) work outside, INCD does the internal work.
Israel is a dreadful force in modern warfare. As the world watches the traditional battle evolve into a digital theatre, Israel has marshalled its finest minds to build the ‘Cyber Dome,’ designed to wage warfare in cyberspace on the lines similar to the Iron Dome air defense system, that was deployed in 2011.
Director General of INCD calls it the this system: a “secret sauce” noting that the X factor (a quality that cannot be describe but can makes someone very special) is generative AI platforms.
The development of this tech dome is fueling the blood bath between Gaza and Israel. The stakes are high for Israel as the world is watching the concept of warfare undergo a shift.
According to “Week” Every three years, a new generation joins the cyber defense once they complete the military in Israel. “The week” with equal participation of men and machines .
One half this system is being monitored by youngsters characterized by great enthusiasm for knowledge about a particular subject, especially the real-time data on multiple screens. The other half is completely digital, running on AI/ML (Machine Learning) gathering, reading and interpreting data. Intelligence services use platforms similar to ChatGPT to filter important threats from the unlimited content flowing into the systems. These AI enabled military programs are run by nearly 14,000 tech personnel at the Beer-Sheva complex.
The Israel Defense was one of the world’s first to use AI to thwart threats from enemies. In 2021, the Middle Eastern countries used AI broadly across an operation to identify targets. The technology was used to determine rocket trajectories based on radar information, intercepting those headed for densely populated areas.
With experience on the Warfield, the state now confronts a new challenge of controlling AI. On the current global AI leaderboard, Israel claims the fourth position with a projected market size of $1.54 billion in 2023.
Since April 2023, generative AI-related startups in Israel have more than doubled from 67 to 144. The total amount raised by these startups so far has reached $2.3 billion, a 2.5 x increase compared to the total figure from six months ago. The largest round so far in the country’s generative AI space belongs to natural language company, AI21 Labs, which raised $155 million Series C
Series C financing (also known as series C round or series C funding) is one of the stages in the capital-raising process by a startup. The series C round is the fourth stage of startup financing, and typically the last stage of venture capital financing.
The country is also home to Runway ML: one of the first editing tools companies to integrate machine learning in 2018.
In a conversation with Elon Musk, the Israeli PM had mentioned about pushing forth the country to third rank globally in AI soon. Other government personalities have also aimed to double up Israel’s technological competence to become an AI “superpower”.
